Volunteer Recognition Sunday with Guest Preacher Rev. Davanta Scruggs
Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the many volunteers, ministry leaders, musicians, teachers, and staff whose gifts sustain the life and ministry of Christ Congregational Church. Together we will give thanks for all who serve with generosity, compassion, and faithfulness.
Our guest preacher, Rev. Davanta R. Scruggs Sr., is widely known for his work at the intersection of faith, justice, community healing, and public engagement. His sermon, “Almost Let Go!”, will draw on Psalm 46’s powerful reminder that God remains our refuge and strength even when the world feels uncertain.
Worship will feature special music from the Chancel Choir, including Hear My Prayer, Entertain the Angels, and selections from Rent’s beloved anthem Seasons of Love. Together we will honor those who help make our shared ministry possible and celebrate God’s faithfulness across generations.
