A Community Gathering for Justice & Solidarity
For Those Who Are Not Safe Tonight
A Community Gathering for Justice & Solidarity
On Thursday, April 2, we will gather for an evening of food, reflection, and witness at McGinty’s in Silver Spring.
This night falls during Holy Week, the week when Christians remember the final meal Jesus shared with his friends before his arrest and execution. It was a night of table fellowship, vulnerability, and fierce love in the face of state violence. We gather in that same spirit.
In a time when many in our community feel targeted, anxious, or unsafe, we refuse to look away. We come together to eat, to remember, and to stand with those who carry fear in their bodies.
Evening Schedule
6:00–7:30 PM — Community Buffet Dinner
Christ Congregational Church will provide a buffet dinner. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.
Please RSVP by filling out THIS FORM
7:30 PM — Vigil & Tenebrae in the Upper Room
We will move into a quiet, candlelit vigil. Tenebrae means “shadows.” Through readings, music, silence, and the gradual dimming of light, we will hold grief, courage, and solidarity together.
This is a space to breathe. To sit. To listen. To remember that no one stands alone.
