Just in time for school breaks and summer vacations, the Retreat Center is open for the 2026 season. Think no long lines, no high prices, no big crowds. Instead, think clean, comfortable, contemporary, and beautifully equipped sleeping, living, kitchen and dining spaces; pet-friendly; very reasonably priced; close to home.
The screened porch is perfect for long, lazy afternoons, reading, conversation, napping, or just enjoying the view. On the second floor of our restored pre-Civil War farmhouse, families will find a well-stocked arts and crafts room with books and games for small children; a reading room; a chest full of games; and a room for napping or conversation.
The Retreat Center is convenient to hiking, tubing, fishing, canoeing, and horseback riding; markets with meats, vegetables, fruits and preserves from local farms; a fabulous bakery; local artists and artisans; historic sites; and an amazing museum, restaurants, and shopping in nearby Winchester, VA.
