September 27th, 10:30am worship — Pastor LaTayna will be preaching “A 20-year vision” based on Proverbs 29:18 and Habakkuk 2:1-3. The focus: Why vision matters in a season of transition. On the 10-year anniversary of CCC’s anti-racism covenant, whose vision has been missing?
October 4th, 10:30am worship — World Communion Sunday; Pastor Matt will be preaching “Peace, Peace, When There Is No Peace” based on Jeremiah 6:14; 8:11. Where have we said we want repair but flinched at what repair would actually cost us?
October 11th, 10:30am worship — Pastor LaTayna will be preaching “The Neighborhood We Keep Driving Past” based on Luke 10:25-37. What neighborhoods, streets, or people have we quietly decided are someone else’s responsibility?
October 18th, 10:30am worship — Pastor Madison will be preaching “Many Members, One Body” based on 1 Corinthians 12:12-27. Who has power, who has voice, and who is expected to simply fit in? We will be talking today about shared leadership and the gifts of the whole body. We will also have a New Member Q&A after worship.
October 25th, 10:30am worship — Pastor Matt will be preaching “Repairers of the Breach” based on Isaiah 58:6-12. Our focus will be on our root mission priorities in justice and repair. Then at 3pm, we will have our Service of Installation for Pastor LaTayna at 8900 Georgia Avenue.
November 1, 10:30am worship – Communion Sunday and All Saints Worship Celebration including our Memorial Slideshow. Pastor Matt will be preaching “Memories that Cost us Nothing” based on Hebrews 12:1-2; Revelation 7:9-17. What ancestors, saints, and communities are calling us toward justice now?
