Pastor Matt seeks to share relevant, reflective, and theologically progressive sermons that connect the Gospel to life and life to the Gospel. He invites worshipers to identify the intersections of faith and life as they seek ways to enact their common wisdom and mission.

Matt earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in congregational studies from Hartford Seminary. He graduated with a Master of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School and also holds a B.A from Gordon College. Along with his ministry at CCC, he is an author, teacher, and certified personal trainer / yoga teacher. His book, The Space Between, Spiritual Activism in an Age of Fear, explores the intersections of faith and public activism. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. and Anne Arundel Community College.

When Pastor Matt is not performing his duties at the church, he enjoys spending time at the gym, painting, and poetry.
