I do not need to seek God. God is already here waiting to be found, soaked in my reality.  My journey is to be one of recognizing God, always. already present,  and surfacing that presence in my daily life.

PRELUDE, “Andante,” from Two Pieces for Young Orchestra by C. M. von Weber, arr. Noah Klauss
Children’s Orchestra

Pastor Gloria Grant

Before us each day are challenges. The choices we make craft us into who we are becoming.

May we ever open our eyes to the newness of our days.

May we sense the surge of wonder just beneath the surface of the ordinary.

May we find purpose in each breaking moment.

*HYMN OF PRAISE #28, For the Beauty of the Earth

Dan Pence

Divine One – Source of of struggle and blessing, we thank you that you are so willing to meet us in love here and now, as you meet our mothers and fathers, partners and lovers, siblings and children, friends and strangers on their faith journeys, as you entered our human life in Jesus Christ-Sophia.  Help us open our hearts to you in our time of remembrance and celebration that we may grow in light and love toward you and all people through the gentle wind of your Spirit. We ask in the name of Holy Wisdom, saying . . .

Our Mother who is within us, we celebrate your many names. Your wisdom come. Your will be done, unfolding from the depths within us. Each day you give us all that we need. You remind us of our limits and we let go. You support us in our power and we act with courage. For you are the dwelling place within us, the empowerment around us and the celebration among us now and for ever. Amen

SCRIPTURE READING, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NLT)
Dan Pence

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!

Linda Phelps & Ingrid Baynes

“How has faith informed your parenting, or how has parenting informed your faith?”

Pastor Gloria Grant

O Divine Lover, Your life pulses in each of our hearts, and your love permeates each of our lives.

We, your daughters and sons, praise you.

When we fall, you lift us. When we fail you restore us. When we are wounded, you nurse us. When we grieve, you weep with us.

We, your daughters and sons, praise you.

Because you are a God of compassion, we bring our prayers in faith, and with thanksgiving. Wherever there is war and violence,

we pray for peace and reconciliation;

Wherever there is crime and corruption,

we pray for integrity and lawfulness;

Wherever there is poverty and inequality,

we pray for sharing and generosity;

Wherever there is disease and death,we pray for healing and comfort.

Wherever there is oppression and tyranny,

we pray for liberation and freedom;

And wherever people need the healing touch of your grace and mercy,

we pray that we may be your hands, your embrace, and your kindness.

Individual prayers are offered at this time …
