Led by Pastor Matt Braddock and Pastor Aubra Love, our worship service will be filled with uplifting music, heartfelt prayers, and meaningful reflections on the significance of this special day in the Christian calendar. Experience the beauty of the season as we wave palm branches and sing praises to our Savior. Fifth Sunday of Lent 

Join Pastor Aubra Love and Pastor Matt Braddock this Sunday at 10:30am as we mark the Fifth Sunday of Lent and continue our celebration of Women’s History Month. The Chancel Choir and Ingrid Baynes (soloist) will perform “Pie Jesu” from Requiem by Malcolm Archer. Cherry Hunsaker-Clark will be our Lay Reader this Sunday. Pastor Aubra Love will offer a Sermon entitled “Making Room for the Divine Free Spirit”. Finally, the Chancel Choir and Lynne Joseloff (flute) will perform “Still Be My Vision,” Traditional, arr. Mary McDonald. After the service, please join us for Coffee Hour in the Social Hall.

Please join us for a heartfelt celebration filled with music, prayer, and reflection at Christ Congregational Church. As Pastor Matt Braddock and Pastor Aubra Love extend their warmest welcome, we invite you to experience the joy of community and worship with us.

Our service features music by the Acoustic Band Players.Through uplifting hymns like “I’ve Got the Joy, Joy, Joy” and reflective moments of prayer, we’ll unite in gratitude and praise.

We also have the honor of baptizing Ifedayo Tobias DaSilva into our Christian community, celebrating the gift of new life and God’s boundless grace. Together, we witness this sacred moment and reaffirm our commitment to love and support one another on our spiritual journeys.

We will also embrace the message of unity and love as consider what it means to walk in the way of love as followers of Christ. And as we offer our gifts and prayers, may we be inspired to live out our faith with compassion and generosity.

Whether in person or on Zoom, join us in fellowship and worship as we lift our voices in praise and seek to live out the love of Jesus in our lives. All are welcome, and we look forward to sharing this sacred time together.

Pastor Matt and Pastor Aubra invite you to join us in a vibrant celebration on the final Sunday of Black History Month at Christ Congregational Church. We’ll be uplifted by the soul-stirring melodies of the Chancel Choir and aided by lay reader, Karen Hawk.

Our special guest, Guthrie Graves-Fitzsimmons, communications director at the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Freedom, will deliver an interactive homily with Carlean Ponder that will inspire us to embody the spirit of liberation and equality that defines Black history. Guthrie’s insightful message will draw from his vast experience in advocating for religious freedom and social justice, inspiring us to take action and make a difference in our world.

Throughout the service, we’ll engage in prayer, reflection, and song, lifting our voices in praise and solidarity. more just and equitable world for all.


Guthrie Graves-Fitzsimmons is the communications director at the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Freedom. He leads the organization’s marketing and media strategies to grow, diversify and inspire BJC’s audience to advance faith freedom for all. Prior to BJC, Graves-Fitzsimmons was a fellow at the Center for American Progress, where he worked on religious liberty policy and faith-based advocacy across CAP’s various issue areas. He previously served as associate director of the Rights and Inclusion Collaborative at ReThink Media and faith coordinator at the National Immigration Forum. He is the author of Just Faith: Reclaiming Progressive Christianity (Broadleaf Books, 2020) and has written for national news outlets including NBC News, CNN and The Washington Post. Graves-Fitzsimmons earned his undergraduate degree from American University in Washington, D.C., and his Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Prophetic Leadership degree from Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Graves-Fitzsimmons has served as a deacon and Bible study teacher at Highland Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Originally from Houston, Texas, he lives with his husband in Washington, D.C.

It’s a chance to come together, share a delicious meal, and conjure dreams for our shared journey. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, inspire, and let the flavors of compassion and unity flourish. Let us collectively shape the future where your presence contributes a distinctive voice to our congregation’s journey. ChildCare/KidCare will be provided.
