            Eternal God, we come to you with hungry hearts, waiting to be filled:
            waiting to be filled with a sense of your presence;
            waiting to be filled with the touch of your spirit;
            waiting to be filled with new energy for service.
            Come to us, we pray.
            Be with us.
            Touch us.
Empower us as your people that we might worship you here and act in the world for Jesus’ sake.

Prayer Of Invocation And The Lord’s Prayer
Speak to us, Giver of Life, and make us new.  We thirst for the waters of eternal life,
we yearn to know ourselves as Resurrection People.  Send your Holy Spirit upon us this day, and create in us your new heaven and new earth.  Speak to us words of comfort and hope, words of challenge and courage.  Come, move among us, we pray.
Holy God, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name.  Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever.  Amen.

Call to Confession
It is good to acknowledge our transgression before God. Let us pray,

Prayer of Personal and Corporate Confession
Journeying God, migrant Christ and border-crossing Spirit. You are always making something new in us. Though we are often set in our ways and hesitant to change, You continue to speak to us and call on us to weave together the textures and colors of all cultures and races. You move in us, calling us to examine our hearts and actions. Have mercy on us and forgive us for our sins. Help us to have the courage to actively take down walls that divide people from Your love. Walk with us as we find our way to freedom, and as we work for others to find freedom, too. Oh God, our Common Bond, grant us visions and hopes for newness of life in our daily living, to honor You and all of Your children in this world we share.

Assurance of God’s Love
In spite of our tendency to pull apart, in spite of our tenacity of our old ways, our loving God continues to call us back together again, showing us the true nature of forgiveness. God does not keep score of our wrongs or measure how far we have wandered. God welcomes us home, encourages us to learn from the forgiveness graced upon us. God calls us to offer this forgiveness to ourselves and to others, again and again, as God offers it to us in Jesus Christ, our hope and our home.
