Easter Sunday

At CCC, we honor and celebrate people of all races, cultures, ages, abilities,

PRAYER OF INVOCATION AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Awesome God, with gladness and joy we worship you! How amazing is all your creation! How
glorious is this day of new life! Come among us now, we pray to raise us up from our fears and
doubts. We want to believe what we see and know in our hearts. We want to dare. We want to
live. Touch us today with hope that we might honor Christ who taught us to pray… Holy God,
who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we
forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the
kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

TIME WITH CHILDREN

CALL FOR REFLECTION
The power of resurrection is at work in us and between us. Through former things, and in the new
heaven and earth, God is ever creating; the Spirit of Christ is ever leading us. Let us reflect upon
that journey.

PRAYER OF AFFIRMATION AND REFLECTION
Easter takes us on a new journey.
The narrow paths we followed,
the restricting patterns of life, no longer bind us.
Easter opens up new horizons for us.
The limits that held us back, the deadening opinions of others,
no longer have power over us.
Easter renews and restores us.
We have escaped from the groove of tradition,
broken free from the hold of prejudice.
Easter enables us to see the world with new eyes.
Our reluctance to work justly, our reluctance to stand
beside the powerless, is over for good.
Easter has given us God’s love in the Risen Christ.
Now we can experience that love in action.
Now we can feel that love transforming each day for ourselves.

Come, Holy Spirit! Bless this bread and bless this fruit of the vine. Bless all who share at
this table that our eyes might be open to see the risen Christ in our midst in each other. As
we share this meal, hold us together in communion with your Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Easter flowers that are arranged in the sanctuary today have been given in celebration or in memory of loved ones by members of the congregation. Please see the bulletin insert for these names. After the worship services, they will be delivered to those members of the congregation who are confined to home, hospital or nursing home.
