Prelude Forty Days and Forty Nights arr. Charles Callahan
*Call to Worship
Before our stories began, there was God;
Every day God walks with us.
There is no place we cannot go where God is not;
When life is a challenge, God’s promises hold true.
We call out to God, expecting to be heard;
We listen, knowing there is truth to embrace.
*Hymn of Praise #205 Forty Days and Forty Nights HEINLEIN
Prayer Of Invocation And The Lord’s Prayer
Gracious God, in moments of reflection we know the peace of your presence. In the offering of prayer, we hear your still small voice. In the quiet places of our life, we are aware of your leading us. In sacred moments, we sense your Spirit bringing us together to worship and to pray. We pray as Jesus taught, Holy God, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Call to Confession
Let us confess to God with chosen words and in self-searching silence.
Prayers of Personal and Corporate Confession
Loving God, You go before us, leading us into the unknown—deeper and deeper into a landscape full of reflection and searching for truth, stripped of things that distract and indulge us.
We confess that we are often fearful to enter this journey of faith. In the silences we wonder what we will learn about ourselves and what others will see in us. The emptiness can make us feel anxious—a testing place we tread into the unknown.
Sometimes we feel we need endless comforts and the sounds and the things that will make life a little easier. There we find we need to do just one more thing before we go.
Help us to let go of excess baggage and follow you now. If we forget or leave behind those who would slow us down, impatient to stay with our agendas and schedules, remind us of your abiding love for all people. This we pray in faith.
A time of silent reflection
Assurance of Grace
Calling us, leading us, guiding us, God gathers us in compassion and grace. This Sacred Presence is our map, this Scared Presence is our way, this Sacred Presence is our destination. God walks with us always. Thanks be to God. Amen.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God for all that love has done;
Creator, Christ, and Spirit, One.
*Prayer of Dedication
God of the journey we bring these gifts to you, the fruits of our work to share with others on the journey of life. Add to them with your blessings and, as they are filled, may we be filled also with the desire to give back to you all you have given us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Benediction
We go forth following as the Holy Spirit leads us.
Whether in falling or rising, we are protected by God’s love.
Even as we journey, we abide in the Shelter of God’s Grace.
With courage, we go forth on our journey of faith. Amen.
