SHEPHERD’S TABLE - CCC’S PARTICIPATION IS AGAIN AT RISK - Many
thanks to those who represented CCC at Shepherd’s Table the evening of
September 9. Our next evening is October 14. In order to maintain our longstanding
claim to the second Wednesday of each month, CCC is going to have to
provide 10-12 volunteers each month instead of just 5 or 6. There are other congregations on a waiting list. Please sign up for October 14 on the bulletin board outside the church office and help us continue CCC’s 25+ year commitment to this vital program. The next couple of months will determine whether or not we can continue to serve our community in this way. This is a good opportunity for families with children to come out and participate. Shepherd’s Table is a soup kitchen for the homeless at "Progress Place" in downtown Silver Spring. Volunteers set the table, serve, and clean up after dinner every day. CCC is responsible for the second Wednesday of each month. Volunteers also sort and distribute clothes during the day.

Time: one 2-hour shift a month; weekly clothes sorting and distribution
