Chapel Choir (Children's Choir) continues rehearsals for It's Cool in the Furnace.
Each Sunday immediately following worship, the Chapel Choir (k-5th grade) continues rehearsing for our annual musical to be presented in worship on Sunday, May 9th at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. There are singing, speaking, and acting parts for all ages and abilities. Rehearsals are held each Sunday in the choir room from 11:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Songsheets and listening CD's are available for all participants. It's a great time to join to choir! Parents are welcome to all rehearsals also! Come and be a part of this vibrant ministry with our children! February, March and April
Days of Simplicity
Lenten Noon-Time Concert Series brings the gifts of talented musicians and table fellowship to our Lenten journey again this year. Beginning on Wednesday, February 24 and continuing each week on March, 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31, the community at Christ Congregational Church will gather with friends and guests to take time apart, to be blessed by musical talent, and to share in a simple (but delicious) homemade soup luncheon, arranged for and prepared by our Senior Adults. The musical offerings (30-40 minutes) begin promptly at 12 noon and will be held in the sanctuary, our meal follows immediately in the conference room. A free-will offering is received each week and our generous contributions in past years have fully covered the honorariums that we offer our guest musicians, and allow the music ministry to continue this increasingly popular series. This program is a meaningful ministry to the community around CCC and each year we welcome an increasing number of guests.
This year, we are excited to be able to host two fine young jazz musicians from the Duke Ellington School in Washington DC on February 24 to begin the series. Molly Stier, classical pianist will join us again; Lazo Momchilovich is arranging for a wonderful chamber ensemble; Steve Young and Nae Pearson will offer music for trumpet and organ; Mary Ann Willow and Nae Pearson will perform classical and religious selections arranged for organ and piano duets, and the series will be concluded on March 31 with musical offerings by Rose Marie Sims, soprano. Ms. Sims will be accompanied by her teacher, Marjorie Jovanovic. A brochure with a listing of performers and the date when each will perform will be published in early February. Plan now to attend each week and invite a neighbor and friend to come with you!
