Fall Church School and Youth Group Registration

In order to prepare roasters for our teachers, please take a few minutes to register your children today for Church School and Youth Group. Registration materials can be mailed or dropped off at the church office. Please return Church School materials by August 30th and Youth Group Materials by September 13th.

Nursery Care
Care is provided during both the 9:00 and 10:30 worship services for infants and young toddlers in the Nursery, Room 106 on the main floor.

Church School Program
This year we adopted Seasons of the Spirit, a lectionary based curriculum that explores the same themes and scriptures as Sunday morning worship. There will be six classes using Seasons of the Spirit for 3rd olds through 8th grade. All children start in worship with their families and leave for Sunday school after children’s time.

The Lambs – pre kindergarten threes, four and five year olds meet in room 006 use stories and activities from Seasons of the Spirit and meet every week.

The next five classes only meet three Sundays a month (or four in five Sunday months). On the first Sunday of the month they join Carolyn Hoskinson’s to explore the sacrament of Holy Communion. The five other classes are:

Kindergarten – room 107
First Grade – room 009
Second and Third Grades – room 208
Fourth and Fifth Grades – room 207
Middle School – room 206

At CCC we are committed to continuing our tradition of Christian Education by creating a safe and welcoming environment for all children; exploring scripture and theology with an open heart and open mind; providing teacher support and training; and growing in the Spirit together as a community in Christ. Our Sunday school teachers are adults willing to journey honestly with children as they explore questions of faith together. None of us fully comprehend God, nor are our own journeys of faith yet final. Sunday school is about creating a space for children and adults to grow in their relationship with Christ and each other. We invite you to join us on this journey.

Youth Group

2011 Youth Group Calendar

At Christ Congregational Church we have a strong and growing youth program for youth ages 6th-12th Grade. This is our typical Sunday night schedule:

5:30 - Youth Group Dinner in the Social Hall- Dinner is prepared by youth families who sign up for 1 dinner preparation a school year. After dinner Youth clean up and prepare for worship
6:20 - Worship led by Richard Thayer and Nae Pearson
7:00 - Middle School and High School Youth Programs begin- this fall we are offering 6th Grade and a separate 7th&8th Grade OWL (Our Whole Lives) Sexuality Christian Education curriculum led by trained volunteer members of our church.
The Senior High youth will explore a new resource called Faith Practices.
8:00 - Wrap up and Parent Pick UP

Monthly we have a potluck dinner and parent program in addition to the above programs for youth.
Besides our Sunday evening time together, we plan weekend retreats and service projects to foster community and faith formation.

The summer mission trip to Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity, Franklin West Virginia will be July 3rd- July 9th, 2011 is open to 8th-12thg graders .
