Outdoor Ministries Mission Statement
Christ Congregational Church outdoor ministry allows campers and leaders to form a community and grow in faith and relationship to God for stewardship of all creation.
CCC Camp Goals and Objectives
Goals: Through a carefully constructed balance of work and play, the camp program provides an opportunity for children and youth to develop their personal responsibility to themselves, others, the environment, and God. In the peaceful beauty of nature, we learn what it means to live in community, to depend upon others, and to be dependable. Through daily responsibilities, we work together to take care of ourselves and our environment, physically and spiritually. Through daily play, we learn to build relationships and cherish our fellowship with one another.
Objectives:
Campers will:
- develop personal responsibility to themselves, others, their environment, and God;
- build self-esteem;
- value community;
- become more dependable;
- build their ability to depend upon others;
- increase their consciousness of God in all things;
- have fun!
2010 CCC Summer Camps for Children and Youth
Our 2010 Summer Camp Planning process has begun! These one-week residential summer camps for children and youth are held at CCC’s Retreat House in Yellow Spring, West Virginia.
Camp Dates for 2010:
High School (completed grades 9-11): 6/20-6/26
Middle School (completed grades 6-8): 6/27-7/3
Elementary School (completed grades 3-5): 7/11-7/17
CCC members and regular attendees have priority registration until March 1. Others may register at any time, with the understanding that CCC members and regular attendees who register by March 1 have priority. Final registration deadline is March 31.
Several youth and adult volunteer staff positions remain open for all camps! CAMP CANNOT BE HELD WITHOUT VOLUNTEER STAFF, so please consider giving the gift of your time and talent to our Outdoor Ministry. All adult volunteers must meet CCC’s Christian Education and Safe Church guidelines for working with children and youth. Volunteer applications are available in the church office and via email from Anne Nicotera (anne.nicotera@comcast.net). Decisions about assignments of volunteers to camps are made based on program needs.

Middle School Camp needs Adult Leaders (must be 21 or older), including a Kitchen Leader (another cook!), and Counselors (must be at least 18, finished high school, and have experience working with children).
