The Outreach and Engagement Board seeks to expand the fellowship of the church by recruiting new members, welcoming newcomers and integrating all into the life of the church. The Board reaches out to the community by advertizing and promoting CCC's ministry, program and events, and assist in updating the church's web site. The members work with the ushers to identify visitors and greet them. When visitors fill out the pew registry, Board members follow up with phone calls. Periodically the Board schedules opportunities to orient regular visitors on the theology, history and church life, and invites them to consider joining CCC. The Board works on various printed materials, such as the pew rack brochure about CCC, the guidelines for sponsors of new members and opportunities available within the church.

Dear Members and Friends of CCC,
We have so much to look forward to this fall! The theme of our Fall Adult Christian Education Series will be "Hospitality as a Faith Practice". There will be more details to come in the near future.
Because community and a sense of connection are central to our spiritual growth, we are inviting every member and friend of CCC to participate in Hospitality Groups, sponsored by the Board for Outreach and Engagement. The groups will be active September to January.
The hospitality groups will create natural and simple ways to get to know new people at church, plus opportunities to be known by others in a new and deeper way.
Enclosed you will find a list of your fellow group members who were randomly chosen, plus a "Field Guide to Gospel-Hospitality" with suggestions of natural and creative ways to get to know people in your group. You may use these suggestions or come up with your own. We hope you will feel free to be creative and have fun!
"Gospel Hospitality" is profound in the New Testament, with an inspiring and eloquent invitation found in Matthew to live in extravagant welcome of one another and God:
"Jesus said,
I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.
I'm telling you the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me - you did it to me." Matthew 25:35,36 & 40
Thank you for joining us in this great adventure! -
